First thing I thought about was cuss words. It didin't bother me much, lately, but has started to, some. I sound like a sailor compared to some other
people!!!
And sometimes I catch myself looking for a better word to communicate what I am trying to say that doesn't involve cussing, anyway. I have to think more, before I speak. (This is not easy for me...I tend to blurt stuff out!!!) :) |

Hey I relate to that I turned to my sponsor the other night and was being myself and said ya know I really think so and so is totally F-d
and he said yeah that word right there Iam looking to get out of your vocabulary I guess I blushed because there are times I try hard not to say things ...but he also wants me to get trying out of my vocabulary go figure...lol

Once (a couple of years ago?) I was at a meeting sharing how I was initially afraid of turning my will and my life over to the care of God because I thought He might send me to Africa or something as a (I quote) "f-ing missionary". Another AA said, "Not with that mouth! No worries." |

Hey No Lie ...a nun actually flipped off a priest the priest was my friend this nun flipped him off cuz he did a silly uturn or somethng...soooo uhm in africa Iam thinking they dont know what F word means LOL Not to scare ya or anything LOL iAM CRACKING UP YOU ARE AN AWESOME DUDETTE :-)

What a good topic have not heard this one before put like this anyway.
Yes there are a few. The first one is "I". It is a hard one. But you know nothing is more a turn off than when someone is talking to you and everything they say is "I" did that, or "I" have one of those or "I" remember.. The second "F#$K use it way to much. I still do but not as much. And "Yes" I now say I will get back to you or give me a day to think about it, before I commit to anything. |

WOW... there are so many, and the thing is, I love words...good words, I love talking and listening to really interesting folks who use the gifts of words. I
also love to write, but I am trying so hard to illiminate the ignorance in my cussing & general conversation. Just because I used to hang w/ & or be a
biker, doesnt mean I have to swear, what a "dis" for me to stereotype bikers, not all are ignorant with their vocabulary, so I needed to stop using
that as an excuse and make myself more present and more aware. We are all creative as alcoholics and addicts and its actually (fun for me) to stop and think
while I find a more appropriate word when I share. anyone can use the f word, no challenge there, but to stop and think of another way to express ourselves is
a good healthy challenge. It makes us more interesting. I also try and illiminate the words " I cant"..."I".... "Yes" "No
thank you" Thanks JD for bringing it up, I just shared about this on another forum...I guess I need to work on it more. Kat

I had to leave out the cuss words.i cussed like a sailor
GD in every sentence about I had a gutter mouth I was told "we leave the street talk outside,here we learn another language.The language of sobriety,later on I started calling it the language of the heart |

My sponor told me to clean up my act, my mouth and myself. Heal from the outside in. One of the biggest for me was saying, "I'm sorry!" I know
longer had to excuse my reason for being. I had heard the word from my ex for so many years it meant nothing. The action had to go along with the words. In
other words, I had to walk my talk.
